Lesson & Workshop | Tea Culture, Chabana & Kintsugi in London

At ZIYO, we offer a series of deeply rooted lessons and workshops that reconnect people with the quiet artistry of traditional East Asian culture. Whether you’re just beginning or already dedicated, each session invites you to learn through presence and poetic beauty. Classes take place in our London studio and are available as one-to-one or small group formats.

Guqin Music Lessons

Our Guqin Music Lessons guide you through the melodies, finger techniques, and contemplative depth of the seven-stringed Chinese zither. This instrument, with over 3,000 years of history, invites students to experience silence as part of the music. Learn more on Wikipedia’s guqin page.

Tea Culture Lessons

In our Tea Culture Lessons, you’ll explore the seasonal philosophy behind Chinese and Taiwanese tea brewing. We place special attention on water, vessels, gestures, and natural rhythm. Our lineage-based teachings offer more than technique — they cultivate presence.

Chabana – Tea Flower Arrangement

The Chabana workshop introduces you to the aesthetics of floral composition used in tea gatherings. You’ll learn to arrange flowers based on season, mood, and spatial balance, echoing the refined spontaneity of nature. Explore more about Chabana here.

Kintsugi Workshop

Our Kintsugi Workshop teaches how to repair broken ceramics with urushi lacquer and powdered gold. Rather than hiding damage, we highlight it — turning every fracture into a golden thread of beauty and history. Kintsugi expresses the spirit of wabi-sabi.

Every lesson values sincerity, slow discovery, and personal attention.
