A space for stillness, beauty, and meaningful craft
“Every gesture matters. Whether pouring tea or repairing a broken bowl — beauty lives in attention.”
Rooted in tradition, guided by spirit.
ZIYO is more than a studio — it’s a quiet refuge in southwest London for those drawn to intentional living and East Asian culture. We offer an intimate space to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover beauty in simplicity.
Through hands-on workshops and soulful gatherings, ZIYO honours traditional aesthetics while making room for personal exploration.
What We Offer:
- Tea Tasting (Wei Cha 煨茶)
Experience a rare, charcoal-brewed tea ceremony that is non-performative and deeply personal. Our sessions centre on aged teas, slow rhythms, and full presence — without sales pitches or distractions.
- Tea Culture Lessons (茶藝)
A deeper dive into the philosophy, aesthetics, and rituals behind East Asian tea culture. Learn how to brew with intention, understand the seasonal flow of tea, and cultivate stillness in daily life.
- Guqin Music Lessons (古琴)
Learn one of China’s oldest classical instruments through one-on-one tuition that balances technical guidance with poetic interpretation.
- Ikebana Flower Arrangement
Create seasonal compositions inspired by Japanese aesthetics. Our approach favours natural flow, quiet elegance, and the spirit of the moment.
- Kintsugi Repair (金繕)
Restore broken ceramics using traditional lacquer and gold methods. Our repairs are not only food-safe and durable, but honour the history of each object with beauty and reverence.
