This 30-year aged Oolong tea is from our tea house’s private stash. This aged tea is highly valued in Taiwan and China due to its rarity and matured flavour. For example, the aged Pu’er tea (老普洱茶).
It is a common misconception that teas will improve in taste as they get older, however top quality aged teas can only mature under controlled conditions throughout the maturation process:
Our Oolong Old Master is the renowned Dong Ding Oolong 凍頂烏龍 – Thirty years ago Don Ding Oolong tea was the best in Taiwan. Don Ding is a mountain located in Lugu township in the southwest Nantou County.
There are approximately 1,500 types of tea in the world, however at ZiYo we only stock a basic tea selection that barely scratches the surface of the tea world.
Unfortunately there are many poor quality teas on the market, none of which are worth drinking. A poor quality tea may give you warmth, caffeine and flavour from anything you add to it (sugar and milk, for example).
The flavour of a good quality teas is very noticeable and is believed to have many health benefits. Our premium high mountain tea in particular is renowned for its cleansing, and detoxification properties. It effectively helps prevent diabetes and cancers. It is believed that it helps slow down the ageing process. Moreover, aged teas are twice as effective than any ordinary teas.
In addition to all the benefits mentioned above, a genuine premium high mountain Oolong tea has a clean flavour that will not add any burden to your body. So if you are feeling stressed from work or if you just feel a little guilty from having a greasy, high calorie meal a cup of premium Oolong tea can help alleviate the stress put on your body and your digestive system.
